    The Regions and the Autonomous Provinces shall provide for the mapping of those zones which fall within their territories where asbestos exist. The criteria and instruments referred to in articles 2 and 3 shall be used to that end. The outcome of that mapping as well as information relative to urgent interventions shall be transmitted to the Ministry of the Environment. As mentioned above, article 2 regulates the procedure and criteria to be followed when mapping is carried out. Firstly, sites where asbestos exist are to be identified and delimited.

    This Legislative Decree aims at achieving the objectives of article 2 of Legislative Decree No. 22 of 5 February 1997. To this end, it establishes technical requirements applicable to landfills of waste, procedures and guidance with a view to preventing and reducing negative effects on the environment and on the global environment (including greenhouse effect) as well as those risks to human health that might result from landfilling of waste. Particular attention is paid to the prevention of the pollution of surface water, groundwater, air and soil.

    Ce protocole a été convenu par les Parties contractantes de la Convention sur la protection des Alpes (Convention alpine) soucieuses d'élaborer une procédure efficace de consultation et de règlement des différends dans le cadre de la Convention alpine et de ses protocoles. En cas de différend relatif à l'interprétation ou à l'application de la Convention alpine ou de l'un de ses protocoles, les Parties contractantes s'efforcent en priorité de trouver un règlement par voie de consultation ou par une procédure d'arbitrage.

    In implementation of article 50, paragraph 1-bis of Regional Act No. 16 of 2002, this Decree determines those waterworks and installations which may be realized by way of derogation from the prohibition laid down in the Regional Act above-mentioned. In fact, article 50, paragraph 1 of the Act prohibits the realization of waste disposal installations within 150 metres from the banks.

    Article 4 of Directive 91/676/EEC requires Member States to establish a code or codes of good agricultural practice with the aim of providing for all waters a general level of protection against pollution. The present Decree, in implementation of such provision, lays down the code of good agricultural practice. This code takes into account solely the matters connected with the use of nitrogen in agriculture. The Regions shall elaborate special programmes on farmers’ training and education with a view to promoting the effective implementation of the code.

    The present Act provides for the protection of the territory of the Emilia Romagna Region by making rules on land use planning. Cooperation among the Region, the Provinces and the Communes in the field of land use planning and programming is hereby encouraged. Title I lays down general principles applicable to the elaboration of such plans. One of the main objectives is the protection of the environment and natural resources through the reduction or mitigation of impacts that may arise out of plans and projects.

    This Act puts into effect the Convention on the protection of the Alps of 7 November 1991. Moreover, article 3 describes the institutional framework which shall be involved in the effective implementation of the Convention. The Ministry of the Environment shall ensure the implementation of the Convention in cooperation with the competent Ministries, according to the specific related Protocols, and in collaboration with the Central Government-Regions Counsel set up for the Alpine area.

    The present Regional Act makes provision in matter of land use planning and land protection. It regulates the exercise of the relevant administrative functions by the competent authorities. The Calabria Region prompts cooperation among the Region itself, the Provinces, the Communes and Mountain Communities. The overall aims hereby pursued are sustainable development and the appropriate use of natural resources. Article 3 lays down general principles to be applied for the purposes of urban land planning.

    The Basilicata Region promotes and arranges a general land reclamation scheme in order to provide for the territorial maintenance, the rational exploitation of water resources, soil conservation, agricultural development and improvement of agricultural production. The Region shall elaborate directives so as to plan the interventions to be undertaken by safeguarding at the same time the rural environment. With a view to implementing the land reclamation plans, the regional territory devoted to the said land reclamation shall be divided into different territorial areas (art. 3).

    In compliance with the rules and principles laid down in Act No. 97 of 1994, the present Regional Act promotes the protection, the improvement and the socio-economic development of mountain areas, which are regarded by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region as an important element of its own environmental, natural, cultural and socio-economic heritage. Article 2 designates the application scope of the Act, which shall apply to the territories of mountain Communes.
