La idea no fue hacer un manual de tecnologías o cultivos, que ya hay muchos y muy buenos, adaptados a situaciones y territorios concretos de toda América Latina. Sí quisimos plantear una posición conceptual y técnica, que siempre es política, y acercar experiencias que pueden ser útiles para las producciones concretas.
Las mujeres del mundo rural están mucho más expuestas que las del urbano a la sobrecarga que las tradiciones de división sexual del trabajo les han impuesto. Su papel en la reproducción social es invisibilizado por la subvaloración “del trabajo reproductivo, productivo y para el autoconsumo” (Fao, 2017, p. 1) y por su baja posibilidad de participación política institucional.
El Perú y buena parte del globo viven actualmente una crisis agroalimentaria. Si consideramos que alrededor del 10% de la humanidad sufre de hambre, a pesar de que la producción de alimentos es suficiente para todos, debe concluirse que hay “fallas” en el sistema alimentario, como nos lo ha recordado el secretario general de las NNUU, António Guterres a propósito de la realización de la Cumbre Global de Sistemas Alimentarios, realizada en setiembre del 2021.

The webinar An introduction to Prindex took place on 28 November, 2018. This webinar presented a basic understanding of how Prindex works. The Prindex team presented results of data collected from 15 countries. It focused on pathways for using Prindex to propel policy conversations and movement-building for policy reform with the help of panellists from some of the countries where data was collected.
