De agrarische grondprijs in verstedelijkte gebieden wordt gedomineerd door de mate van stedelijke druk. In de meer afgelegen landbouwgebieden wordt de hoogte van diezelfde agrarische grondprijs in belangrijke mate bepaald door de verhouding tussen het aantal kopers en verkopers op lokale agrarische grondmarkten. Dit blijkt uit een recente studie van het LEI en de Leerstoelgroep Agrarische Economie en Plattelandsbeleid van Wageningen Universiteit.

Despite a recent material turn, theoretical literature on the political economy of the environment has only partially incorporated an ecologically nuanced view of nature into analyses of its transformation under processes of capital accumulation.

This publication updates and revises UN-HABITAT’s 2004 publication ‘Urban Land for All’, and stresses the need for policies that facilitate access to land for all sections of their existing and future populations – particularly those on low or irregular incomes.

Journal Articles & BooksJanuary, 2007BrazilO objetivo deste trabalho foi quantificar o armazenamento, a disponibilidade e a extração de água no solo por plantas de milho irrigadas e submetidas a déficit hídrico terminal, cultivadas sob sistema de semeadura direta e preparo convencional. Foram realizados dois experimentos durante os anos agrícolas de 1999/00 e 2000/01, em área experimental do Departamento de Engenharia Rural da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, fatorial, com quatro repetições.

Este trabajo indaga por el sentido jurídico de la institución de las postergaciones de permisos urbanísticos consagrada en el artículo 117 de la Ley General de Vivienda y Urbanismo y su compatibilidad con la Constitución. Luego, plantea y demuestra su carácter excepcional. En este proceso revisa esclarece y precisa los requisitos formales y sustanciales que el texto legal y la Carta Fundamental exigen a la autoridad administrativa para decretar esta verdadera medida precautoria de carácter administrativo, que constriñe gravemente el derecho de propiedad.

Peer-reviewed publicationJournal Articles & BooksDecember, 2007Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Africa, EthiopiaThis article investigates the effects of wheat genetic diversity and land degradation on risk and agricultural productivity in less favored production environments of a developing agricultural economy. Drawing production data from a household survey conducted in the highlands of Ethiopia, we estimate a stochastic production function to evaluate the effects of variety richness, land degradation, and their interaction on the mean and the variance of wheat yield. Ethiopia is a center of diversity for durum wheat and farmers manage complex variety mixtures on multiple plots.

El pastoreo del microzooplancton (< 200 m) sobre el fitoplancton, juega un papel importante en la trofodinámica del sistema pelágico. Para determinar la relevancia de este proceso en Bahía Concepción, se utilizaron la clorofila-a estimada por cromatografía líquida de alta resolución (HPLC) y la microscopía para determinar las tasas de crecimiento del fitoplancton y pastoreo por el microzooplancton obtenidas con la técnica de dilución. El crecimiento del fitoplancton y pastoreo por el microzooplancton fue evaluado en la región media de la bahía.

A influência de doenças na produtividade do morangueiro cultivado em estufa, bem como sua associação com o manejo da irrigação é pouco conhecida. Desta forma, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar o efeito de diferentes níveis de água e coberturas do solo na sanidade e produtividade do morangueiro, sob ambiente protegido. O experimento foi realizado em Atibaia, estado de São Paulo, Brasil, de abril a dezembro de 1995.
