With the purpose to study a solution based on Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) to reduce and treat stormwater runoff in urban areas, a bioretention pond (BP) was realized in the Agripolis campus of the University of Padova, Italy. The BP collected overflow water volumes of the rainwater drainage system of a 2270 m2 drainage area consisting almost entirely of impervious surfaces. Sixty-six Tech-IA® floating elements, supporting four plants each, were laid on the water surface. Eleven species of herbaceous perennial helophyte plants, with ornamental features, were used and tested.

The experience of the EU in implementing the policy supporting rural development was analyzed, as well as change of goals and priorities of this policy within different programme periods.

There are many methods to estimate wild ungulate populations. One of these is represented by observations from vantage points usually employed in medium-low covered forest areas to estimate cervids. This method is subject to some limitations, such as the risk of double counting and the necessity to a high number of operators due to the small size of the observable areas. Such limitations could be reduced by integrating the “vantage points method” with Remote Piloted Aircraft System (R.P.A.S.) surveys.
