    This Order, made under section 7 of the Town and Country Planning Act, confirms and amends the Town and Country Planning (Trelawny Parish) Provisional Development Order, 2013. Minor amendments are made to provisions concerning, among other things, use classes, a planning role for the Jamaica National Heritage Trust, and the list of national monuments.

    This Order, made under section 5 of the Town and Country Planning Act, provides for a wide variety of matters regarding the administration and development of the Trelawny Parish Development Area. Matters regulated by this Order include planning permission for development, control on subdivision of land, consultation with national authorities by the local planning authority before granting planning permission, appeals. The Second Schedule sets out Use Classes. The Third Schedule sets out Permitted Development. The Fifth Schedule sets out the Planning Framework for the development area.

    This Act makes provision for the appointment of Town and Country Planning Authority, the constitution of the Advisory Planning Committee and the establishment of the Compensation Assessment Board and provides rules relative to the development of land and related matters.The Act grants the power to the Authority to issue development orders and prescribes conditions and procedures for the preparation, confirmation and modification of such orders and of provisional development orders. Development orders shall provide rules for the development of land in a specified area.

    This Act establishes the Urban Development Corporation, defines its functions and powers and provides for its administration and functioning.The Corporation shall be responsible for the laying out and development of areas designated by the Minister under this Act. The Corporation may acquire land in accordance with the Land Acquisition Act. The Act also concerns the sale or lease of any land vested in the Corporation, the development of water supply and sewerage services and the relationship between the Corporation and Statutory Undertakers.

    This Act provides rules for the valuation of real property and requires the Minister to appoint for each parish a Board of Assessment. The Board shall have full power to assess the value of any property in respect of which any assessment has not been accepted and is in dispute. If the Commissioner of Inland Revenue or any person affected by the assessment of the Board is dissatisfied in any respect with the assessment it shall be lawful to appeal to the Revenue Court and the decision of such Court shall be final and binding.
