    Although there is ample evidence of differences in how and where men and women acquire information, most research on learning and household decisionmaking only considers access to information for a single, typically male, household head. This assumption may be problematic in developing-country agriculture, where women play a fundamental role in farming. Using gender-disaggregated social network data from Uttar Pradesh, India, we analyze agricultural information networks among men and women.

    As stress on Indian agriculture increases because of several reasons, such as continuous fragmentation of landholdings and climate change, there is a serious threat to livelihood based on farming. This is particularly true for small farmers. Growing rural populations and constrained employment opportunities in the nonfarm sector have caused subdivision of landholdings in India to the extent that these cannot provide an adequate livelihood to a majority of farm households. With this view, this study was undertaken to explore options for improving the outcomes of the farmers.

    This is the proceedings of a Workshop organized at India International Center, Lodi Road, New Delhi, India by Center for Land Governance, NRMC, Bhubaneswar with the  support of  The World Bank, New Delhi.  In this workshop, the study team shared the state and district-wise WLR maps segregated across caste and economic categories along with temporal trend. Usefulness and relevance of Agriculture Census data, Status of women pattwaris, Inter-state variations around women’s land rights parameters, Operational holdings and tenancy were discussed by the participating experts.

It has identified sustainable and profitable land uses, estimated credit requirement and formulated credit investment action plan.

It amended the Mines and Minerals (Regulation and Development) Act, 1957 and replaced the ordinance promulgated in January 2015.The bill seeks to bring transparency to the allocation of mining licence process by auctions.

    The Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Ordinance, 2015 was promulgated on 12 January 2015.The bill seeking to replace it was passed in the Lok Sabha on 3 March 2015 and in the Rajya Sabha on 20 March 2015.
