Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, (MTCIT), has begun implementing the medium-term open data action plan 2021-2024.

A statement issued online by Oman TV News said:” Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has begun implementing the medium-term open data action plan 2021-2024.

 

The Open Data Medium-term 2021-2024 aims to promote open data-based decision-making in economic and strategic sectors, stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship, and embrace emerging technologies in open data science and analysis.

 

The implementation plan includes three main parts: governance, availability, incentivizing data-based projects, and building human competence.

 

“The plan contains 8 initiatives with performance indicators, the most prominent of which is encouraging the availability of open data for service sectors, training programs, awareness events, and activities to promote development and innovation.” added the statement.
