Handover of land certificates in Bujumbura Province, Burundi 25 October 2021 | Land Portal

207 land certificates were  recently handed over to the beneficiaries, men and women, of the Benga and Karunga hills of Isare commune, Bujumbura province.

The awarding of the first certificates is the culmination of intensive fieldwork, which has enabled satisfactory results to be obtained over the past two months. The head of mission of the IGNFI-LADEC group took care to give details. 5556 acknowledgments including 3890 in the name of both spouses (i.e. 82%); of the 207 certificates subject to the inaugural presentation, 163 are issued in the name of both spouses (ie 78.7%). The level of consideration of gender in land certification was considered impressive.
