Mais de mil fazendas serão expropriadas por falta de aproveitamento | Land Portal
Cerca de mil e 700 fazendas há muito requeridas e até aqui sem qualquer aproveitamento, na província de Benguela, vão começar a ser expropriadas a curto prazo, de modo a dar primazia a quem tiver de facto condições financeiras para trabalhar a terra, informou hoje, nesta cidade, o chefe de departamento do Gabinete Provincial da Agricultura e Pecuária.
 
Segundo Martinho Gabriel, que falava à imprensa, das mais de mil fazendas requeridas, apenas 211 produzem regularmente, estando as demais sob completo abandono.
 
Sem apontar os níveis de produção actual ou hectares em aproveitamento, Martinho Gabriel indicou que, a maioria destas fazendas em funcionamento, estão mais concentradas na zona litoral de Benguela.
 
Para si, os imputes agrícolas estão cada vez mais caros, apesar das empresas importadoras os colocarem sempre nos mercados de consumo.
 
Contudo, disse que isso não inibe os investidores e tal como acontece em outras províncias, o governo de Benguela vai expropriar as fazendas inoperantes.
 
Entretanto, a Angop apurou que a campanha agrícola 2019/2020, a nível da província de Benguela, prevê uma colheita de 890 mil toneladas de produtos diversos, contra as 390.852 da época anterior.
