SDI is complrised of grassroots activists using technology to hold the Liberian government & corporations to their commitments.  

The Foundation for Community Initiatives (FCI) was founded in 2004 as a community based organization in Grand Bassa County, Liberia, by a group of trained development workers and human rights activists trained by Development Education Network – Liberia (DEN-L). The Development Education Network-Liberia (DEN-L) runs the “Development Education Leadership Teams in Actions” (DELTA) Training, which provides leadership, development and advocacy training for NGOs in Liberia.

Medici Land Governance

Medici Land Governance (MLG) provides user-friendly, low-cost land titling and administration systems. Our team is comprised of leaders with deep experience in building and delivering quality, resilient technology products and services.

As a public benefit corporation, MLG promotes economic development and full financial inclusion by helping individuals establish formal ownership of their homes and land.

Mission

To support the voices of these women against the wrong use of their communities resources, including making sure that they are involved in the decision making process through their organization and to press for equal rights and ownership to natural resources and forest in a way that it will reduce the poor living conditions of these women and the idea of looking down upon them.

The Association of Environmental Lawyers of Liberia (Green Advocates) is Liberia's first and only public interest environmental law organization dedicated to  ensuring the protection of the environment, defending human rights, empowering and amplifying the voices of poor people who are victimized in resource exploitationand by using the rule of law to hold state and non state actors accountable for their actions.

Resource Equity

Resource Equity is a women-run and women-centered nonprofit organization that focuses exclusively on legal issues specific to gender equity in land and natural resources around the world.

Rights and Rice Foundation (RRF) is a Liberian non-governmental organization registered with the overall aim of working for social justice and community empowerment.  Since 2007 RRF has implemented several programs and projects supported by donors and funding agencies like UN Women, UNDP, USAID, GIZ and Welthungerhilfe. Today RRF works around three key thematic pillars, namely: political and economic governance, community empowerment and conflict mediation. RRF now implements seven programs in 10 of Liberia’s 15 counties.

FeJAL seeks to provide professional training, skills development and capacity building for female journalists as well as other media practitioners and also other media related groups. It is engaged in the protection of the rights of female journalists.

Mandate & Mission

The mandate to develop the agriculture sector calls for putting in place an effective organizational structure and manned by staff capable of planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating agricultural development programs. It also ensures that its staff and the farmers are trained to cope with the challenges of developing the agriculture sector.

Settlement of freed slaves from the US in what is today Liberia began in 1822; by 1847, the Americo-Liberians were able to establish a republic. William TUBMAN, president from 1944-71, did much to promote foreign investment and to bridge the economic, social, and political gaps between the descendants of the original settlers and the inhabitants of the interior. In 1980, a military coup led by Samuel DOE ushered in a decade of authoritarian rule. In December 1989, Charles TAYLOR launched a rebellion against DOE's regime that led to a prolonged civil war in which DOE was killed.
