Robyn Meeks is an Assistant Professor at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University and a faculty affiliate of the Duke Energy Initiative.

Her research is at the intersection of environmental and development economics with much of her work focusing on understanding individual and household responses to the introduction of various water and energy technologies, policies, and types of infrastructure in developing countries.  Professor Meeks has implemented field research in a number of countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Kenya, Kazakhstan, and Peru.

CETRAD is a Bilateral Institution between the Government of Kenya (through The Ministry of Water and Irrigation) and the Government of Swiss Confederation, through the Centre for Development and Environment of the University of Berne. CETRAD was established in July 2002 as a follow up of the then Laikipia Research Programme (1976 - 1997), and therefore builds on the long term preinvestment research facility.

Commonly referred to as ‘Haki House’ (Right House) by refugees, Refugee Consortium of Kenya is a national non-governmental organization that was established in 1998. RCK’s mission is to promote and protect the rights and dignity of refugees, asylum seekers, IDPs and other forced migrants in Kenya and the wider East African region. It was established as a response to an increasingly complex and deteriorating refugee situation in Kenya and the region.

The Muungano alliance represents the combined force of 3 organisations

1. Social movement: Muungano wa Wanavijiji, the Kenyan federation of slum dwellers

2. Fund: Akiba Mashinani Trust, the Kenyan urban poor fund

3. Support NGO: SDI Kenya, an NGO providing professional and technical support to the federation

Kenya hosts a wealth of data and information on its biodiversity and natural resources however the vast majority of these information is scattered across various institutions, with that do not lend themselves to sharing and integration. This hampers any efforts to give consolidated access to the information for purposes of further analysis and dissemination. This portal is an open access platform, hosting and supporting data generated from the Kenya’s Natural Capital- Biodiversity Atlas (2015).

The Rift Valley Institute (RVI) is an independent, non-profit organization, founded in Sudan in 2001, currently working in seven countries in Eastern and Central Africa. The aim of the Institute is to advance useful knowledge of the region and its diverse communities, bringing a better understanding of local realities to bear on social and political action. The RVI works with institutions in the region to develop and implement long-term programmes that combine action-oriented research with education and public information.

The Journal of Land Administration in Eastern Africa (JLAEA) is publication of the Land Administration Unit that was set up at ARU in November 2009. JLAEA mirrors the aspirations of the Land Administration Unit at Ardhi University (ARU) whose mission is to ensure quality education and training, research, scientific publications, information dissemination, documentation and public services through integrated cross disciplinary team work in land administration.
