The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

La presente ley tiene por objeto la preservación, conservación, defensa y mejoramiento del medio ambiente de la provincia de Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur. A tal fin establece sus principios rectores con miras a perpetuar los ecosistemas existentes en su territorio, como patrimonio común de todas las generaciones, debiendo asegurar la conservación de la calidad ambiental, la diversidad biológica y sus recursos escénicos. La Ley consta de tres títulos.
Decree No.2190-1 of 1992 of the Supreme Soviet regarding enactment of Law No.2872-1 of 1992 “On mortgage”.
The Supreme Soviet decrees as follows: 1). Law “On mortgage” is applicable to the relations originated after its enactment. As regards legal relations originated before the enactment of the aforesaid Law it is applicable to rights and duties originating after its enactment. 2). Ministerial Decree No. 177 of 1992 regarding the validation of the form of Certificate of land ownership, Contract of tenancy for agricultural land, Contract of temporal leasehold of agricultural land.
This Decree establishes that the forms of Certificate of landownership can be used provisionally, till the issues of the state legal form, as a document for lifelong ownership valid for inheritance and limitless (permanent) land lease. This Decree validates the forms of Certificate of landownership, Contract of tenancy for agricultural land, Contract of temporal leasehold of agricultural land. The forms of these documents are supplied in Annexes.
Law on payments for land.
The objective of land payment shall be to ensure through economic methods rational use of land, to form resources for carrying out measures of land organization, improvement of land quality and land conservation, as well as of social development of the territory. Issues related to establishment, the present Law, the Land Code, shall regulate collection and use of land payment and other legislative acts. Land payment shall be compulsory for all land owners, land users, including lessees, and land proprietors, except cases stipulated by the present Law and other legislative acts.
