The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Le présent décret met en place le Fonds d’incitation à la réhabilitation urbaine et immobilière des villes anciennes auprès de la Fondation nationale pour la Sauvegarde des villes anciennes (FNSVA).Ce Fonds a pour objet de financer des actions visant à assurer la sauvegarde, la préservation et la promotion du patrimoine urbain et architectural des villes anciennes de Mauritanie inscrites sur la liste du patrimoine mondial.
Historic and Anthropological Sites Designation Regulation (N.B. Reg. 83-196).
The present Regulation enacts the Historic Sites Protection Act. Section 2 of the above-mentioned Regulation establishes that the lands and buildings described in Schedule “A” are designated as historic and protected sites and the parcel of land described in Schedule “B” is designated as an anthropological and protected site.

Law No. 228 amending Law No. 153 “On registration of rights to immovable property and transactions therewith”.
Article 24 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Authority carrying out state registration of rights to immovable property and transactions therewith shall submit to the authorized institution for combating the financing of terrorism and legalization of proceeds of crime information on transactions with immovable property”.

Wild Animal Control Act, 1977.
The purpose of this Act, consisting of 5 Parts and one Schedule, is to control wild animals generally, and eradicate wild animals locally where necessary and practicable in order to ensure concerted action against the damaging effects of wild animals on vegetation, soils, waters, and wildlife, to provide for the regulation of recreational hunting, commercial hunting, wild animal recovery, etc.
Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 69/99 approving the National Policy to Combat Desertification (PANCD).
This Resolution of the Council of Ministers approves the National Policy to Combat Desertification (PANCD - U.N. Convention to Combat Desertification) and establishes procedures for its enforcement. The aim of this Resolution is to regulate, promote, enforce and manage actions to combat desertification in order to minimise drought effects within semi-arid and sub-humid areas, in particular those areas where soil erosion (environmental and natural resources destruction) is a well known problem.
