The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Law provides for the establishment of the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre under the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement. It sets forth the principles and procedures of the establishment duties, powers and responsibilities of the General Directorate. The Law also covers provisions regarding the renewal and update of cadastral work of the immovable property, the creation of land registry and further sets forth principles and procedures for archiving, protection and mapping.

This Law amends the Law No 6083 on the organization and duties of the Directorate General of Land and Cadastre by adding two new clauses to Article 8. Clause (6) sets forth provisions regarding circulating capital service charges whereas Clause (7) provides for legal persons excluded from encashment of service charges.

This Act empowers local authorities in England and Wales to include in their development plans policies that impose reasonable requirements regarding use for development of low-carbon energy and energy from renewable sources or meeting energy efficiency standards. Policies included by local authorities must not be inconsistent with relevant national policies (as defined).

Regional Law No. 157-OZ “On state cadastre valuation of land by local government”.

This Regional Law establishes that state cadastre land valuation shall be conducted by decision of local government of city districts and municipal units within the boundaries of a given municipal unit. The modalities of state cadastre valuation of land shall be performed by decision of the regional administration.

This Regional Law determines the particulars of regulation of land relations except for agricultural land. It assigns plenary powers of regional bodies and local government in the aforesaid sphere. This Regional Law shall be applicable in the following cases: (a) allotment of public plots land to citizens free of charge in ownership; (b) allotment of public land plots on lease without tender; (c) application of servitude; and (d) expropriation of land for public and municipal needs.
