Cette note restitue les discussions d’une journée consacrée aux enjeux de sécurisation des systèmes pastoraux et agropastoraux qui a été organisée le 20 novembre 2024 à l’AFD à l’initiative du Comité technique « Foncier & développement » (CTFD).

Cette journée s’inscrivait dans le cadre d’un partage des éléments saillants du processus de concertation ayant permis aux organisations de la société civile pastorale et agropastorale de verser leurs contributions au forum de haut niveau « Nouakchott+10 », qui s’est tenu du 6 au 8 novembre 2024 en République islamique de Mauritanie.

In 2019, it ranked 182nd out of 189 countries on the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI). 70% of the population lives in rural areas and is highly dependent on agriculture.
