This Ordinance establishes the National Trust as a body corporate. The Trust shall safeguard the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the Turks and Caicos Islands through the preservation of areas, sites, buildings, structures and objects of cultural, historical or natural significance. It may, among other things, engage in programmes to preserve and propagate wildlife.

This Act constitutes the Commission in accordance with the Constitution and provides for its structure, operations, administration, functions and powers.
