The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Land Acquisition Act 1992
An Act to empower the President and other authorities to acquire land and other immovable property compulsorily in certain circumstances; to make special provision for the compensation payable for agricultural land required for resettlement purposes;to provide for the establishment of the Derelict Land Board;to provide for thedeclaration and acquisition of derelict land;and to provide for matters connected withor incidental to the foregoing.
Law No.2872-1 of 1992 “On mortgage”.
The present Law establishes that the form of contract regarding mortgage of the plots of land, sea and river vessels, registered on the territory of the Russian Federation, irrespectively of the place of conclusion of such contracts must be regulated by the Russian Federation. Article 41 deals with mortgage of the plots of land. It establishes that mortgage of the plots of land by the persons who have the right of ownership to them if it is not covered by Section 2 of the present law must be regulated by land and other legislation of the Russian Federation.

Las presentes normas se aplican a los aprovechamientos de terrenos que requieran alteración de la topografía a través de movimientos de tierra, mediante deforestación, remoción de la vegetación, excavación, nivelación y relleno.
