The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Plant Pest Act (No. 14 of 2017).
This Act sets regulations on the monitoring and prevention of the spreading of living organisms and virus in plants and which may damage crop production.
Act on the assessment and management of flood risk from rivers and lakes (No. 1505 of 2009).
This Act provides definitions and framework for the assessment and management of flood risks from watercourse and lakes with the aim to reducing risks in vulnerable areas.
Port Authority Act (Cap. 7.09)
This Act establishes the Port Authority for Montserrat and defines its functions and powers. The Act also makes provision with respect to compulsory acquisition of land by the Authority and defines certain rules applying to port operations and navigation in ports. Some provisions concern the storage of perishable goods. The Governor may with the advice of the Authority, make Regulations generally for the conveyance, loading, discharging and storage of dangerous goods within the limits of a port.

Land Titles General Regulation (Y.O.I.C. 2016/108).
The present Regulation is made under the Land Titles Act, 2015. In particular, the Regulation provides for the correct and efficient enforcement of the afore-mentioned Act. Section 2 establishes that the whole of Yukon is constituted as one registration district to be known as the «Yukon Land Registration District». The text consisting of 7 sections deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: Land Titles Office, Review of deputy registrar’s decision, review by judge under the Act, enduring power of attorney, commissioner’s approval, disposal of records, establishment of standards.
