The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

The Part applies in relation to custom owners of land who had a right to compensation under section 11 of the Land Reform Act immediately before the section was repealed by the Land Reform (Amendment) Act No. 6 of 1992. The Government is to determine the amount of compensation payable to the custom owners of the land. In determining the amount of compensation, the Government must take into account the market value of the land and any other matters that it considers relevant.

The purpose of this Regulation is to improve land management and to guarantee the sustainable development of land.Land survey shall be aimed at ascertaining the land resources and utilization conditions, obtaining authentic and accurate basic land data, providing the basis for scientific planning, reasonable utilization and effective protection of land resources, etc.According to the Regulation, a nationwide land survey will be launched every 10 years and a land change survey will be conducted annually.

Decision of the State Council on Amending the Interim Regulations of the People's Republic of China on City and Town Land Use Tax.

The State Council decided to amend the Interim Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Urban and Township Land Use Tax. The main amendments include: 1. Add one paragraph in Article 2 : The units and individuals using land within the scope of cities, county seats, administrative towns, industrial and mining areas shall be payers of urban and town land use tax (hereinafter referred to as land use tax) and shall pay land use tax in accordance with the provisions of these Regulations.

The purpose of these Regulations is to rationalize the use of land in cities and towns, regulate the income differential on land, and improve efficient use of land in use and to strengthen land management.Units and individuals which use land within the boundaries of cities, county towns, towns/bases operated under an organizational system and industrial and mining districts shall be the obligatory payers of tax on land used within cities and towns and shall pay land use tax in accordance with provisions of these Regulations.

Decision No.429 dated 28.4.2010 proclaiming the archeological zones A and B in the city of Shkoder and approving the administration regulation.

The Decision proclaims the archeological zones A and B of the city of Shkoder according to the map attached to it and approves the regulation for its administration. The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports is the responsible authority for its implementation. The Decision lays down rules and procedures regarding the permissible interventions, the archeological findings, the antics rescue missions, and intensive aerial surveys.
