The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Decreto Legislativo Nº 1288 ─ Modifica la Ley Nº 28294, Ley que crea el Sistema Nacional Integrado de Información Catastral Predial.
El presente Decreto Legislativo modifica la Ley que crea el Sistema Nacional Integrado de Información Catastral Predial, en relación a las entidades que lo conforman y a los integrantes del Consejo Nacional de Catastro. Además, crea el Índice de las Estaciones de Rastreo Permanente (ERP), de propiedad de las entidades públicas y privadas, a fin de densificar y consolidar el Sistema Geodésico Oficial.
Regional Law No. 181-Z amending Regional Law No. 105-Z “On plenary powers of state bodies and local government in the sphere of land relations”.
Article 4 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Local government shall be responsible for allotment of urban land plots with undelimited state ownership located within the boundaries of urban municipal unit”.

Article 3 shall be amended to add the folowing wording: "Regional state authorized executive body shall be responsible for conclusion of lease contracts, purchase and sale contracts and free land tenancy related to land plots pertaining to the ownership of the Regional Government".
