The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

These Regulations amend the Town and Country Planning (Hazardous Substances) (Scotland) Regulations 1993. They confer transitional immunity from prosecution and contravention proceedings for a period of six months from the day these Regulations came into force and correct an error in Schedule as substituted by the Planning (Control of Major-Accident Hazards) (Scotland) Regulations 2009.

This regulation implements the Land Act 1994. Part 2 prescribes the guidelines for trustee permits and leases. Part 3 regulates the making land available, Part 4 concerns rents and tree management. Part 5 regulates registration, while Part 7 regulates the discontinuation of rights and tenures. The regulation is completed by 11 schedules.

Long Leases (Scotland) Act 2012 (2012 asp 9).

This Act converts ultra-long leases (i.e. leases that were let for over 175 years and that have over 100 years left to run from the appointed day) into ownership. Certain leasehold conditions to real burdens. The Act also covers compensation for loss of landlord’s rights and provides exemption from conversion and continuing leases. The conversion of qualifying leases to ownership is automatic, unless the tenant chooses to opt. The Act extinguishes all rights and obligations arising from the qualifying lease and any superior lease.

Section 171E of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 enables a local planning authority to issue a temporary stop notice ("TSN") if they think that there has been a breach of planning control and that it is expedient that the activity, or any part of it, which amounts to the breach, is stopped immediately. Section 171F(1)(a) provides that a TSN does not prohibit the use of a building as a dwelling house.

This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food establishes contents and method of keeping of the record of irrigation and drainage systems and equipment. The Ministry maintains the information system on drainage and land reclamation. The record is kept in the form of the physical archive file on drainage systems and as the collection of spatial and other data on the drainage systems.
