The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Upon the request of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, the Council of Ministers decrees to determine some meadows as protected areas which are specified in the Annex. This Decree aims at soil conservation against erosion, pollution, degradation and fertility soil loss.

Ley Nº 866 - Derecho propietario rural sobre tierras fiscales.
La presente Ley tiene por objeto regular el derecho propietario rural sobre tierras fiscales disponibles a favor de entidades públicas para el desarrollo de fines y funciones esenciales del Estado. El artículo 6º especifica las limitaciones a las que quedará sometida la entidad pública beneficiaria del derecho propietario.
Rangitāne o Manawatu Claims Settlement Act 2016 (No. 100 of 2016).
The purpose of this Act, consisting of 137 sections divided into three Parts and four Schedules, is: to record the acknowledgements and apology given by the Crown to Rangitāne o Manawatu in the deed of settlement; to give effect to certain provisions of the deed of settlement that settles the historical claims of Rangitāne o Manawatu. The provisions of this Act take effect on the settlement date unless stated otherwise.
Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 (S.I. 1154 of 2016).
These Regulations provide a consolidated system of environmental permitting in England and Wales. They transpose provisions of 15 Directives which impose obligations required to be delivered through permits or capable of being delivered through permits. They define the term “regulated facility” and require every regulated facility to be operated under the authority of an environmental permit.
