Guinea

Land tenure issues, closely linked to natural resources, represent a major challenge for economic and social development in Guinea. However, various factors contribute to weakening community land access in urban and rural areas. In particular, existing land policies and regulations, which are outdated, poorly harmonized and unenforced, do not adequately protect the land rights of local populations. A lack of transparency and weak resource governance by the Guinean state compound these legal shortcomings.
