As of 2017, SGP has awarded over 3,800 small grants to land degradation projects in over 120 countries, many of which are in regions with extreme levels of poverty and food insecurity across Africa and Latin America.

Fit-for-purpose mechanisms for developing land administration systems have been posited to be especially effective in resource strapped economies since these mechanisms quickly create the settings for economic as well as social and environmental development.

This Act amends the Land Tax Act in section 8 by inserting immediately after paragraph (g) a new paragraph (h). Section 8 lists exemptions on tax and provides now that land owned and occupied as a residence by a national hero shall be exempted from the payment of land tax.

This Act makes provision with respect to actions that may be undertaken to have a claim in ownership in land be recognized by the High Court. If the action is successful, the Court shall issue a certificate of title.

This Act amends the Land Valuation Act in section 10 by inserting a subsection which disapplies subsections (1) and (2) of that section to hotels within the meaning of section 6B of the Land Tax Act, Cap. 78A for a specified period. Section 10 concerns new valuations.
