This Act amends the Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (Scotland) Act 2013 in Schedule 2A, which makes provision about an additional amount of tax chargeable in respect of certain chargeable transactions. It sets out rules regarding the assessment of ownership of land.
Part 1 of the Rules makes provisions about the form and arrangement of the register to be kept under the Land Registration Act 2002. Part 2 makes provision about the indices to be kept under the Act.

These Rules amend the Land Registration Rules 2003. Rule 1 provides for citation and commencement and rule 2 for interpretation. Rule 3 makes a consequential amendment to rule 91(1) of the principal rules, arising from rule 4. Rule 4 adds a new rule, rule 91A to the principal rules.
The Act stipulates rules for the creation, enforcement and extinction of real burdens, and special rules for community burdens and manager burdens. A “real burden” is an encumbrance on land constituted in favour of the owner of other land in that person's capacity as owner of that other land.
