The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

The purpose of this Act is to contribute to the promotion of public welfare with the systematic management of uninhabited islands and surrounding waters by prescribing matters necessary for the conservation and management of uninhabited islands and surrounding waters. In particular, the State and local governments shall formulate and execute policies necessary for the proper conservation and management of uninhabited islands, such as protecting uninhabited islands and surrounding waters from being damaged, or indiscreetly utilized or developed. The text consists of 37 articles.
Prevention of Steep Slope Disasters Act.
The purpose of this Act is to protect lives and property of people from the danger of steep slope failures and to contribute to public welfare by prescribing matters concerning the designation and management of steep slopes at risk of collapse, the formulation and execution of necessary improvement plans and emergency measures.

This Regulation amends Annex 1 of the Regulation establishing vulnerable areas and the use and storage of fertilizers and manure fertilizers, crop rotation and implementation of erosion-control measures in these areas. This Annex specifies vulnerable areas which are geographically defined by the cadastral territory of the Czech Republic.

Land Transaction Ordinance.
The present Ordinance implements the Land Transaction Act of 9 December 1992. In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the correct and efficient enforcement of the afore-mentioned Act. Land Valuation and Taxation Regulations.
These Regulations, made under section 77 of the Agricultural (Commercial) Land Reform Act, concern the valuation of agricultural land for land tax purposes, the imposition and collection of land tax, and various related matters such as land tax returns and objections and appeal against valuations.
