The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Surveyors Registration Council of Nigeria Act.

This Act provides for the establishment of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria as a body corporate and provides for the control and registration by the Council of surveyors. The Act also sets out qualifications and procedures for registration as a surveyor by the registrar appointed by the Council and establishes the Surveyors Disciplinary Committee and the Surveyors Investigating Panel. The Surveyors Licensing Board established pursuant to the Survey Act is dissolved.

The present Act validates the Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of Nova Scotia for the Settlement of Questions respecting Indian Reserve Lands. Section 4 establishes that the Governor in Council may do, or may authorize a member of the Executive Council to do, every act necessary or proper for the exercise or enjoyment of any power, privilege or right conferred upon or vested in the Government of Nova Scotia under the annexed Agreement. The text consists of 4 sections and 1 Schedule.

This text is to amend the title of the principal Law, under section 1, as "Ports and Railways Authority Law". Section 3 of this text amends section 4 of the principal law, as concern functions of the Authority and development, such as planning, construction, development, management, maintenance and operation of ports. Section 20 makes provision as for human resources, as concerns the agreement to transfer railway employees to the Authority and Labor Agreement. Section 22, amending section 21 of the principal Law, concerns fees, transportation of goods and persons.
