The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Act defines the requirement to carry out environmental impact assessment of qualifying plan or programmes and implements in part Directive 2001/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the assessment of the effects of certain plans and programmes on the environment.
Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act (2010).
This Act is formulated to prevent and remediate soil and groundwater pollution, ensure the sustainable use of soil and groundwater, enhance the living environment, and protect public health. It consists of 8 Chapters divided into 57 articles.Competent authorities at all levels shall, regularly monitor the quality of the soil and groundwater, and perform verification of sites suspected of having soil and groundwater pollution, and control pollution sources and investigate the state of environmental pollution.
Regional Law No. 365 amending Regional Law No. 111 “On the particulars of turnover of agricultural land”.
Article 6 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Regional Government shall be responsible for setting forth the modalities of calculation of lease for public land plots and plots of land with undelimited ownership destined for lease without tender”.

Real Property Regulations 2009.
These Regulations, consisting of 16 sections divided into five Parts and completed by one Schedule, set out the conditions for applications for division or amalgamation of land and the requirements for the subsequent plans. The Regulations are divided as follows: Land division, including transactions excluded from unlawful division provisions and the certificate of licensed surveyor (2); Land amalgamation, including examination of plans (3); Certification of instruments (4); Verification of identity requirements (4A) and Miscellaneous (5).

La presente Resolución aprueba los Lineamientos para la ejecución de los procedimientos de formalización y titulación de predios rústicos de propiedad del Estado y de declaración de propiedad por prescripción adquisitiva de dominio. La norma precisa que los lineamientos tienen alcance nacional y son de obligatorio cumplimiento por los gobiernos regionales a los que se ha efectivizado la transferencia de la función referida al saneamiento físico legal de la propiedad agraria.
