The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Land Code establishes that objects of land relations shall be: (a) land; (b) plots of land; (c) land rights; and (d) restrictions (encumbrances), including servitude. The following types of ownership are envisaged: (a) public property; (b) private property; (c) foreign property, including property of international organizations; (d) lifelong hereditary ownership; (e) open-ended (permanent) ownership; (f) provisional ownership; and (g) lease (sublease).
Land Recording Districts Regulation (B.C. Reg. 345/2008).
The present Regulation enacts the Land Act. The Regulation lays down provisions related to the recording of land. Section 1, 2 and 3 establish respectively that the land identified in the map attached as Schedule 1, 2, and 3 is, respectively, constituted as the Coast Region Land Recording District, the Southern Interior Region Land Recording District and the Northern Region Land Recording District. This Ministerial Resolution Law is composed of 15 articles. Article 1 prohibits the establishment of buildings, facilities or the division of lands outside boundaries of urban cordons approved for villages and cities, with the exception of projects for agricultural production and livestock, as well as agricultural lands on which built private houses or facilities.
District Development Fund Act [Chapter 29:06].
This Act stipulates that the fund established in terms of section 3 of the African Development Fund Act shall, on and after the fixed date, continue in existence and shall be known as the District Development Fund. The trustee of the Fund shall be the Minister of Local Government, Rural and Urban Development or any other Minister to be appointed by the President. This Minister shall, subject to this Act, have the sole management, control and use of the Fund.
