The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

La presente Ley, que consta de 13 artículos, tiene por objeto reestructurar las deudas contraídas por los adjudicatarios de tierras y por los beneficiarios de la reforma agraria para con el Instituto Salvadoreño de Transformación Agraria (ISTA) y con la extinta Financiera de Tierras Agrícolas (FINATA), y las de los beneficiarios del Programa de Transferencia de Tierras y demás usuarios a favor del Banco de Tierras, con la finalidad de convertirlos en sujetos de crédito con el sistema financiero (art. 1º).

This Regulation, consisting of seven sections and three Schedules, implements the Land Title Act 1994. It specifies the lodging instruments of the land registry offices mentioned in schedule 1, the forms to be used in the office of the land registry and the fees payable under the Act. The Schedules, deal with: the offices of the land registry; fees and Dictionary.

The present Ordinance implements the Direct Support Scheme Implementation Ordinance of 4 November 2004 (BGBl. I p. 2778). In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to protection of erosion as far as agricultural land is concerned.
