A lack of respect for the role of local people in land use planning and local farming traditions have led to the encroachment of forest land in many areas in Viet Nam, hindering the sustainable management of forest resources. Based on a review and assessment of overlapping forest land boundaries, and taking into account local customs, this brief offers a solution to this challenge. For any solution to work, it is important to ensure the active participation of local people in implementing land use planning and land allocation.
Based on the review of the Agricultural Sector Strategy of 2014-2016, and the National Policy Agenda, the National Development Plan (2017-2022) prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture is a nation-wide sectoral document consisting of two key components. The first component is the national policy agenda, which sets out the national vision, priorities and policies.
This document provides information on how implementing forest landscape restoration (FLR) at the jurisdictional and national level can offer countries a way to recover degraded forests and bring back key forest ecosystem functionalities in a way that will increase biodiversity levels in a landscape while contributing to achieving several Aichi Biodiversity Targets.

Hale, embarked on a comprehensive study whose guiding theme was the situation of Mapuche comunities in the region of La Araucania in relation to forestry companies in Chile. The intention of this study is to provide a document that could form a basis for renewed and improved dialogue about the way these companies conduct their forestry operations in the lands that are historically claimed by these Mapuche communities.
