The Historical Injustices Issues Paper seeks to present the various historical land claims issues and perspective related to them and consequently proffer policy statements for their redress.
Now and again, it has been argued that lack of appropriate/improved technologies and non-use of complementary improved inputs are the root causes of the African vicious circle of low agricultural productivity, food shortage, low income and perpetual poverty.
An attempt briefly to describe key components on land as a global issue today, giving some examples of Oxfam International’s involvement in land issues in different parts of the world. The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of marketing reforms implemented in the late 1980s in Myanmar. Particular emphasis is placed on the impact of the reform on the rural economy and its participants, namely farmers, landless laborers and marketing intermediaries.
Recent food security crises in Africa have revived the debate on whether current land tenure systems constrain farmer innovation and investment in agriculture.
