The study aimed to compare the effects of various size of simulated paddy field on growth and yield of rice cv. Sangyodphatthalung and to compare the efficiency of simulated paddy field with true paddy field reported by Rice Department. The experiments were conducted at Phatthalung Central Prison in Phatthalung province. Sangyodphatthalung rice was grown in three sizes of simulated paddy field including, 1*2 m, 1*3 m and 2*3 m consisted the treatments of the experimental design in a CRD. Three replications of each treatment were included. Results obtained showed that sizes of simulated paddy field had no effect on rice growth and yield. However, the results of rice yield analysis showed that 1*2 m simulated paddy field tended to give rice yield average of 449.6 kg/rai higher than others. When compared with Sangyodphatthalung rice growing in true paddy field reported by Rice Department, the results showed that rice yield in simulated paddy field was higher than true paddy field’s rice yield (390.4 kg/rai). Then, the efficiency of simulated paddy field was higher than true paddy field.
