These Regulations issued by the Regulation and Supervision Bureau for the water, wastewater and electricity sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi concern design, construction, use and maintenance of fuel storage tanks. The aim of these Regulations is to ensure the prevention and early detection of any fuel release from fuel storage tanks and to minimize the risk of fuel releases affecting the environment and public health. In addition to rules regarding construction of new tanks and the upgrading of existing ones, the Regulations make provisions with respect to registration of tanks, early detection of leaks, containment of spills, maintenance and inspection, the preparation of emergency plans by licence holders, the reporting on spills and discharges of fuel and the decommissioning of tanks.

Implements: Law No. 2 of 1998 concerning the regulation of water and electricity sector. (1998-03-01)
