Transfer of the plots of land on condition of private property (ownership) for the purpose of subsidiary smallholding, truck farming, gardening and personal housing in towns, settlements and rural areas is carried out in accordance with land legislation currently in force. This Law concedes the right to the citizens that were allotted plots of land on condition of private property (ownership) for the aforesaid purposes to sell them to Russian nationals within the size ceilings established by Law. The use of plots of land for different purposes when it is not explicitly specified by the legislation currently in force is not permitted. The citizens that had been allotted before entry into force of this Law plots of land exceeding size ceilings established by this Law retain the right to lifelong tenancy of the excessive part. They have also the right to purchase the excessive part from the local administration on contractual basis.
