The Parties, in accordance with the national legislation of the SCO member-states, shall develop cooperation in the following areas of agriculture: (a) farming; (b) animal husbandry; (c) beekeeping; (d) veterinary medicine; (e) selection, seed production and breeding; (f) land reclamation, irrigation and agricultural irrigation; (g) processing and trade in agricultural commodities; (h) agricultural machinery and equipment; and (i) scientific research in the field of agriculture. The Parties shall cooperate in the following forms: (a) exchange of scientific and innovative achievements; (b) exchange of advanced equipment and modern agricultural technologies; (c) joint investments in agricultural projects; (d) participation in agricultural exhibitions; (e) exchange of legislative information and standards related to biological quality and biological security of agricultural commodities; (f) joint scientific conferences, seminars, round table and joint scientific research; (g) exchange of seed and planting material, livestock and selection material; (h) plant protection, quarantine, and plant protection means; (i) identification, localization and contrast of transboundary animal and plant diseases, pests and organisms subject to quarantine; and (j) training and improvement of qualification of agricultural experts. The Parties shall ensure the protection of intellectual property rights arising from implementation of this Agreement, in accordance with national legislation and international treaties to which the SCO member states are parties.

Founded in the 12th century, the Principality of Muscovy was able to emerge from over 200 years of Mongol domination (13th-15th centuries) and to gradually conquer and absorb surrounding principalities. Under PETER I (ruled 1682-1725), hegemony was extended to the Baltic Sea and the country was renamed the Russian Empire. During the 19th century, more territorial acquisitions were made in Europe and Asia.
