All the UN member states have committed to achieve the Sustainable Development Targets by 2030. However, there is a clear gap between what is being committed and the delivery of the commitments. For example, in 2020 National Voluntary Reports only seven countries reported on specific land targets. No country reported on the all three key land targets.
This webinar aims to: (1) promote understanding of the role CSOs can play in monitoring the progress of SDG land targets; (2) Introduce formats developed by the SDG Land Momentum Group on parallel reporting to ILC members and the land community; (3) Encourage CSOs and other stakeholders to report on progress on the implementation of SDG land targets.

Data use across the land sector remains limited by a lack of openness, limited clarity about responsible data sharing, and disconnected data silos, serving particular communities and ignoring the needs of others.

The SDGs will be the theme of the week with a particular focus on ways to accelerate SDG 2 – zero hunger.
