The National Adaptation Programme of Actions (NAPA) to Climate Change in South Sudan, developed by the country's Ministry of Environment, identifies and prioritizes urgent climate change adaptation needs in five key areas: environment, water resources, agriculture, disaster risk reduction, and policy frameworks. The report outlines 28 adaptation projects designed to address vulnerabilities caused by increasing droughts, erratic rainfall, and floods, all of which pose significant threats to livelihoods and development. With the support of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the NAPA provides a participatory, stakeholder-driven framework to integrate climate resilience into policies and foster sustainable development. This document is particularly relevant to land governance as it addresses the impacts of climate change on land use and management.
