    These Regulations designate a coastal area as a Special Protection Area in accordance with Article 4 of Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Conservation of Wild Birds. The purpose is to ensure protection from disturbance, capture and damage to nests and eggs under Article 5 of the Directive for all species of birds, not just the birds listed on Schedule 3 (with the exception of those birds covered under Articles 7 for hunting and 9, where derogations are listed).

    This Act provides for various matters relating to wildlife and forestry including: functions of the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands, acquisition of land and rights, natural heritage areas, nature reserves and refuges, protection of flora, wild birds and wild animals, and regulation and control of wildlife dealing.

    The purpose of these Regulations is to prescribe the form of the notice of the intention of the Minister to make a purchase order in pursuance of section 55 of the Wildlife Act, 1976, in respect of registered land. Section 55 allows the Minister, if he wishes so to purchase land by issuing a purchase order under conditions specified in that section. Regulation 4 concerns procedures for lodging any claim by a person to an interest in the relevant land.

    Part III of and Schedule 9 to the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 substitutes new sections 28 to 28R in the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Part III of and Schedule 11 to the 2000 Act makes transitional provisions in relation to the 1981 Act.

    A Law to amend the law relating to inheritance, wills of movable and immovable estate, and the administration of estates of deceased persons, to abolish certain rules of customary law and for other purposes connected therewith.

    This Law provides rules for the making of wills and other matters regarding inheritance. It provides, among other things, that in every collateral succession on intestacy, whether to movable or immovable estate, the rule by which the paternal side excludes the maternal side in equality of degree is abolished. It also provides for devolution of immovable estate on intestacy and amends customary law so as to provide for equality of succession rights of legitimate and illegitimate children.

    This Order prescribes, in relation to England only, exemptions to the prohibition in section 38(1) of the Commons Act 2006 on the carrying out, without the consent of the Secretary of State, of any restricted works on land to which that section applies. Exemptions include, subject to certain conditions, erecting of temporary fences for the purposes of (a) restricting the movement of animals which are grazing on the land, (b) allowing recovery of vegetation, and (c) nature conservation.

    This Order prescribes, in relation to England, the procedure for applications to the Secretary of State under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 for consent to carry out restricted works on common land, and certain related types of applications. Restricted works” are: (a) works which have the effect of preventing or impeding access to or over any land to which this section applies; (b) works for the resurfacing of land. The procedures include the making representations in relation to applications.

    These Regulations prescribe the procedure for applications to the Welsh Ministers under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 for consent to carry out restricted works (as defined in section 38(2), (3) and (4) of the Act) on common land and certain related types of applications. The Regulations also provide for the management and determination of applications, including provision for representations, holding site inspections and hearings or inquiries in appropriate cases.
