The Act requires landowners to register Africans residing on their estate for the purpose of growing any economic crop for sale or performing any agricultural work. “African” means any person who is a member of an African community indigenous to Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia or Mozambique. This Act shall not apply to any African who is in occupation of land on an estate by virtue of a valid lease or tenancy agreement for a period of not less than two years.

This Regional Law regulates some issues related to turnover of agricultural land, including agricultural land parcels and agricultural land shares in common ownership of agricultural land. It shall not be applicable to agricultural land parcels allotted to citizens for subsidiary smallholding, gardening, horticulture and cattle breeding.

La presente Resolución aprueba los Lineamientos para la Aplicación de las Disposiciones sobre Prevalencia de la Información Catastral, Tolerancias Catastrales y Registrales Permisibles, así como para la Expedición y Aprobación de Planos, para la inscripción de predios rurales.

El presente Decreto reglamenta la Ley que adopta medidas para la prevención del desplazamiento forzado y la atención, protección, consolidación y estabilización socioeconómica de los desplazados internos por la violencia, en relación a las atribuciones legales a la Red de Solidaridad Social, que son complementarias y afines a las atribuidas al Ministerio del Interior en relación con la inscripción de la población desplazada por la violencia.

This General Notice, made under section 6 of the Deeds Registration Act, exempts all Licences for the occupation of land issued by the Minister under the powers conferred upon him or her by section 5 of the Land Act in connection with Agricultural Settlement or Re-Settlement in any part of Malawi, from the requirement of registration as provided for in the Deeds Registration Act.

This Order, made under section 31 of the Land Act, provides that on the land described in the First Schedule no control person shall, without the prior consent of the Minister or his or her authorized representative: (a) make any new garden; (b) plant any tree or shrub; (c) erect any building of any description whatsoever; (d) hunt or carry any firearm; (e) set fire to any vegetation.

This Order of the Minister, made pursuant to section 41 of the Land Act, delegates to and authorizes, subject to his or her special and general directions, the Project Manager, the Chief Settlement Officer, the Settlement Officer or the Assistant Settlement Officer to sign and issue Settlers Licences in connection with any agricultural settlement or re-settlement scheme in any Region of Malawi.

The Order sets guidelines for the regulation of interest rates applied to governmental loans to tenant farmers in accordance to article 26 of Order No. 662 of 14 August 1997 on governmental smallholdings and rents. The regulated interest rates in December 2012 with termination in June 2013 are reduced by half (for interest rates from 3 to 5%) and by 2.5% (for interest rates of 5.5% or more).

This Act amends the Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2008 by making minor word changes to sections 12, 13 and 19 that provide for the appointment of authorized officers and their powers, powers of the District Officer and powers of entry and seizure.
