El sector agrícola en Costa Rica enfrenta dificultades en incorporar a las personas jóvenes a un sector altamente riesgoso y con poco apoyo del Estado, pero el especialista en agricultura familiar y juventudes rurales, Pedro Boareto, señaló que la primera barrera la viven en sus comunidades.

El evento "Incorporación de los Derechos sobre la Tierra de las Personas Rurales en situación de Pobreza en la Agenda Climática" (Mainstreaming the Land Rights of the Rural Poor in the Climate Agenda) tuvo lugar el 6 de junio de 2023 y contó con tres ponentes. El evento fue organizado por un consorcio de organizaciones, incluyendo la Fundación Land Portal, el Foro Global sobre Investigación e Innovación Agrícola (GFAR por sus siglas en inglés), la Coalición Asiática de ONG (ANGOC por sus siglas en inglés) y Jóvenes Profesionales para el Desarrollo Agrícola (YPARD por sus siglas en inglés).

What are the state-of-the-art and new approaches to land consolidation as part of integrated rural development strategies in North Africa and Near East? That was the main question around which several experts from Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, and Turkey joined the FAO/ RVO roundtable discussion on land consolidation during the Second Arab Land Conference last February; a session which 110 participants attended – both in person and online.

“No sé si toda mi vida voy a trabajar la tierra”, así expresó Carla —una joven de una comunidad del municipio de Palacagüina en el departamento de Madriz, quien trabaja en tierra ajena, lo hace a medias con otra mujer que utiliza la parcela del marido— al participar en un estudio que realiza el Instituto de Investigación y Desarrollo Nitlapan-UCA, la Asociación para la Diversificación y Desarrollo Agrícola Comunal (Addac) y Octupan sobre la situación de jóvenes rurales y su acceso a la tierra.

From the 26-28 of February, 2018, the First Arab Land Conference, organized by UN Habitat, the World Bank, the Global Land Tool Network, the League of Arab States, the Arabian Union for Surveying and the Dubai Land Department took place in Dubai.  Taking place in one of the most quickly developed parts of the region, the palpable enthusiasm felt throughout the event was because it truly was the first of its kind.  No other conference has yet brought together land experts from around the Arab world.

The indigenous people in Cambodia are living in the remote areas and highlands of Cambodia, especially in the Northeast of Cambodia, including Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Kratie, and Preh Vihear, and in the southwest along the cardamom mountains. These provinces are located far from Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The infrastructures in these locations are very poor, but they are rich in natural resources.
