On this International Day of Forests, we highlight the critical need for meaningful youth participation, particularly from Indigenous, local and Afro-descendant communities. Youth play a crucial role in protecting the world’s forests by offering fresh perspectives, innovative solutions, and a long-term commitment to conservation. Their creativity and urgency are key in addressing the complex challenges facing forests, such as deforestation and climate change. 

À l'occasion de la Journée internationale des droits des femmes, nous nous penchons sur les liens entre droits fonciers et égalité hommes-femmes à travers une compilation de ressources présentes sur la plateforme du Land Portal. L'accès et le contrôle de la terre par les femmes sont des éléments essentiels au développement durable, à l'autonomisation économique et à la justice sociale. Cependant, malgré les engagements internationaux, des barrières structurelles continuent d'entraver la pleine participation des femmes à la gouvernance foncière.

Le 11 avril 2024 a été la date du premier webinaire de cette année, organisé sous l'égide de la série de dialogues sur le foncier, intitulé "Montrer la voie : comment les jeunes autochtones luttent contre le changement climatique à travers les droits autochtones". Le webinaire a attiré un peu plus de 200 participants et mis en vedette de jeunes leaders autochtones et communautaires locaux du monde entier. La série est organisée par un consortium d’organisations, y compris la Land Portal Foundation, la Fondation Ford et le Tenure Facility et ce webinaire particulier a été organisé par l’organisation YILAA et TINTA.  

Ce numéro du bulletin  « Quoi lire » propose une sélection de publications incontournables pour toute personne souhaitant comprendre le lien entre la terre, la sécurité alimentaire et les femmes.

L'événement " Intégration des droits fonciers des populations rurales pauvres dans l'agenda climatique " a eu lieu le 6 juin 2023 et a accueilli trois intervenants. L'événement a été organisé par un consortium d'organisations, notamment la Fondation Land Portal, le Forum mondial sur la recherche et l'innovation agricoles (GFAR), la Coalition des ONG asiatiques (ANGOC) et les Jeunes professionnels pour le développement agricole (YPARD).​

What are the state-of-the-art and new approaches to land consolidation as part of integrated rural development strategies in North Africa and Near East? That was the main question around which several experts from Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, and Turkey joined the FAO/ RVO roundtable discussion on land consolidation during the Second Arab Land Conference last February; a session which 110 participants attended – both in person and online.

From the 26-28 of February, 2018, the First Arab Land Conference, organized by UN Habitat, the World Bank, the Global Land Tool Network, the League of Arab States, the Arabian Union for Surveying and the Dubai Land Department took place in Dubai.  Taking place in one of the most quickly developed parts of the region, the palpable enthusiasm felt throughout the event was because it truly was the first of its kind.  No other conference has yet brought together land experts from around the Arab world.
