This Act lays down rules for the registration of surveyors and the carrying out of land surveys of public and private land and provides for the establishment of the Land Surveyors Board. The Act also provides for government survey, defines powers of government surveyors and provides for the protection of survey marks.

This Act sets out rules relative to conveyancing of title in property, including land, and related matters such as rights related to leases and mortgages.The rules concern, among other things, contracts of sale, procedures for transactions, the role of court in case of encumbrances or other legal complications, conveyance of easements and other land-related rights, conveyance in case of statuto

This Act makes provision for the recording of certain legal deeds and patents and the effect of such recording and prescribes penalties for the selling or mortgaging of land, tenements and hereditaments twice.The Act sets out certain conditions for a transfer of any freehold or inheritance and defines the legal effect in terms of evidence of the recording of deeds at the Record Office.

This Act concerns the validation of bona fide voluntary conveyance of lands, tenements or hereditaments. “Conveyance” includes every mode of disposition mentioned or referred to in specified enactments.

The Act makes provision for the establishment of the Port Authority, its functions and powers, management and staff, etc., financial matters, port dues and charges, pilotage, navigation ports, prevention and fighting of accidents, and prescribes offences. The Authority is established under section 3 as a body corporate. Powers and duties of the Authority are set out in section 19.

This Act defines the liability of an occupier of premises for injury to persons or damage caused to goods and resulting from actions or omissions of the occupier in respect of the occupied property. The Act also defines the liability of a landlord under the obligation of maintenance or repair of the occupied property.

This Act concerns infrastructure improvements at the local level and related matters.The Minister may declare, by Order, special improvements (infrastructure) areas for purposes of this Act for lands intended for community development and subdivision for this purpose. Infrastructure shall include water supply and sewerage facilities.

This Act provides with respect to limitation of judicial action in relation with land-related rights. Actions include the recovery of land, rent or mortgage. The Act also concerns rights of tenants and the acquiescence of boundaries.

This Act allows owners or occupiers of land for cultivation to pledge crops growing on the land and other produce originating from the land as security for agricultural loans. The Act defines the effect of the pledge and requires contracts to be recorded with the Record Office.

This Act concerns the assessment of the value of public and private land and for this purpose assigns duties to the Commissioner of Land and constitutes the Land Valuation Board to hear appeals from decisions of the Commissioner.

The Act provides for the imposition of rates on land as defined by the Valuation for Rating Act and related matters. Rates shall be levied by local authorities (“rating authority”) to meet liabilities of the general rate fund, the county fund or the township rate fund.
