Land is and will remain a primary asset for national development, performing multiple social, economic, ecological and cultural functions. In our vision, land, including both terrestrial and marine areas, will contribute to economic development in agriculture, fisheries, tourism, trade, manufacturing and other sectors.
This Act makes provision for the allocation of rights in land in the areas described in the First Schedule to this Act or in any area which is declared to be communal land under section 16(1)(a) of this Act ("communal land").
