The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Act concerns investment in the South Sudan economy by public, co-operative, mixed, national, private, and foreign sectors in, among other things, agricultural, livestock, mining and tourism. It sets out objects of investment and establishes the Investment Board. Investment shall, among other objects, contribute or geared towards poverty eradication and or environmental protection. The Act also concerns settlement of disputes and allotment of land for projects by the Commissioner after consultation with any other concerned authorities.
Aliens Landholding Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2015 (No. 17 of 2015).
The Act amends the Aliens Landholding Regulation Act by inserting a new section 5A on obligations of aliens who acquire land under section 5. On acquiring land, under section 5 for an approved development the alien shall - (a) make an application for development permission under the Physical Planning Act, 2002 within six months of acquiring the land; and (b) commence construction of the approved development within one year of receipt of development permission under the Physical Planning Act, 2002.

This Act amends the Title by Registration Act by inserting the definition of “new qualifying project” in section 2 and the Fourth Schedule by adding a new paragraph three on land transfer registration fees.
