The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Ministerial Decree regulates the sale by auction of the right to lease land and the modalities for transferring the land post-auction. Land lease auctions shall be held by local self-government authorities or authorized state land institutions. Plots of land proposed for transfer by lease shall be registered in the unified state register of immovable property. Auctions shall be open to legal and natural persons and individual entrepreneurs. Local administration bodies shall conclude the lease contracts following the auction.
Property Tax Ordinance, 2008 (No. 3 of 2008).
This Ordinance introduces a tax on the ownership of property including land. It also provides for the valuation of property, exemptions from taxation, recovery of taxes, appeals and the administration of provisions of the Ordinance.Conservation land and land designated as heritage property shall be exempted from taxation. The Chief Valuation Officer shall maintain a Valuation List of property. The Ordinance establishes the Valuation Review Board and provides that appeal may be had against decisions of the Board with the High Court.
Presidential Decree No. 81 validating the Regulation on the transfer of land titles to legal persons.
This Presidential Decree regulates the transfer of land owned by legal persons, including enterprises with foreign investments. It does not apply to non-residents. Transfers of land shall be carried out for payment by decision of the President. Proceeds from sale of land shall be used for soil conservation, improvement of soil fertility and land surveys.
Regional Law No. 75-ZRT “On apiculture”.
The scope of this Regional Law shall be to set forth the conditions for the breeding, keeping and protection of bees, and also for protecting legal rights and interests of natural and legal persons carrying out apiculture. State support to apiculture shall be granted in accordance with regional programmes related to state support of agricultural activity.
