The Gecko Project

The Gecko Project is an investigative journalism initiative established to shine a light on the corruption driving land grabs and the destruction of tropical rainforests. It seeks to create and maintain a sense of urgency over the role of large land deals, predominantly for food production, in some of the most pressing global challenges: climate change, the collapse of biodiversity, food security, and the rights of indigenous peoples and other rural communities. We aim to achieve this through the production and promotion of in-depth, high-quality and accessible journalism.

With 73 government adopters and 53 organizations endorsers, our goal is to embed open data as a central ingredient to achieving better solutions to the most pressing policy challenges of our time.

Democratic Governance Facility

DGF

The Democratic Governance Facility (DGF) is a multi-donor facility established by eight development partners under an agreement with the GoU: Austria, Denmark, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the European Union. As development partners, the DGF shares a vision with the government and the people of Uganda of maintaining a corrupt-free Uganda. Therefore, DGF is committed to contributing to the fight against corruption by supporting CSOs and several state institutions whose mandate is to fight corruption.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC; French: Office des Nations unies contre la drogue et le crime) is a United Nations office that was established in 1997 as the Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention by combining the United Nations International Drug Control Program (UNDCP) and the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Division in the United Nations Office at Vienna. It is a member of the United Nations Development Group and was renamed the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in 2002.

UzInvestigations

UzInvestigations is a civic initiative administered by Ulster University in partnership with the Uzbek Forum for Human Rights. Drawing on data science, investigative methodologies, and digital analytics, UzInvestigations produces resources and analysis, which help forensically scrutinise corporate and government power in Uzbekistan.  Our aim is to promote transparency, good governance, human rights, and civic engagement.
