As part of the CGIAR Initiative on Asian Mega-Deltas, a scoping study was completed by the end of 2022 to prioritize key delta-oriented production systems and value chains in Viet Nam's Mekong River Delta (MRD) (Gonsalves et al., 2022). Rice, rice-shrimp, and fruit trees production systems and value chains were selected based on a set of criteria including production, economic and nutritional value, climate change and impact, and potential benefit of climate services with specific attention to the role of women and smallholders.

Food production includes a complex and varied set of agricultural and nonagricultural activities, involving a growing number of sectors and actors that influence the way food is produced, processed, distributed, and consumed. Recently, and especially after the 2021 United Nation Food Systems Summit (UNFSS), it has been proposed that this conglomerate of activities and socioeconomic actors be jointly identified as food systems.

Despite the potential importance of seed quality to agricultural productivity growth, many governments in sub-Saharan Africa lack the capacity to expand quality assurance systems even where there is expressed interest. This brief summarizes the key insights from a recent study in Nigeria. The evidence points toward the benefits of pursuing balanced, flexible seed quality assurance systems rather than focusing singularly on expanding rigorous seed certification systems, as the country has done until recently.

Rice, vegetables, and inland fisheries were selected based on a set of criteria including production, economic and nutritional value, climate change impact, and potential benefit of climate services with specific attention for the role of women and smallholders.

This study aims to understand the adoption patterns of BMPs across multiple farmer groups with different characteristics in Bangladesh. We identified 15 variables that are of importance to aquaculture production through a literature review and expert interview. A taxonomy of study households was developed through a multi-dimensional cluster approach. We then compared key characteristics and the adoption of BMPs for different commercialised groups.

Through analyzing policies and interventions and exploring the context, enabling environment analysis assesses the current situation that influences the design and impact of the scaling investments and supports.

As part of the AICCRA, the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) are tasked to develop curricula and training materials to accelerate the mainstreaming of Climate Information Services (CIS) and Climate- Smart Agriculture (CSA) into University’s curricula in Africa. This report describes the activities of a training of trainers’ (ToT) workshop on crop-livestock-aquaculture integration course module, held on 24-26 May 2023.
