The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

El presente Decreto oficializa el Programa de Acción Nacional de Lucha contra la Degradación de la Tierra en Costa Rica (PAN), elaborado por la Comisión Asesora sobre Degradación de Tierras (CADETI), en el marco de la Convención de las Naciones Unidas de Lucha contra la desertificación en los países afectados por sequía grave o desertificación en particular en África, como el instrumento de lucha contra la degradación de la tierra en Costa Rica.
Valuers Act 2009 (No. 4 of 2009).
This Act provides for the public control on land valuers and their practice and for this purpose establishes the Valuers Board and the Valuers Association of Solomon Islands. The Board shall, among other things, formulate, monitor and review policies relating to the practice of land valuation, register land valuers and regulate and control the practice of registered valuers. The Board may request the Minister to establish a valuers disciplinary committee to which complaints lodged to the Board shall be referred. Appeal against decisions of the Board may be had with the Minister.
Parliamentary Decree No. 308-XII implementing Land Code.
The Parliament decrees to establish that Land Code shall be applicable to land relations beginning from December 1990, except for land relations envisaged by the articles 37-40 of Land Code to which the provisions of Land Code shall be applicable from 1 January 1991. Citizens who are not workers of agricultural enterprises and legal persons who are provisional tenants of the plots of agricultural land allotted thereto by agricultural enterprises before 1 December 1990 shall maintain the right of land tenure and land ownership.

La presente Ley, que consta de 7 títulos, 102 artículos, 2 disposiciones adicionales, 2 transitorias, 2 finales y 1 derogatoria, tiene por objeto la concentración parcelaria y la estructuración del suelo rústico para promover la constitución de explotaciones económicamente viables en el marco de conjunto de acciones de ordenación del territorio y la consiguiente armonización del derecho de propiedad y la función social de la misma (art. 1º).
Mines and Minerals Act 1996 (No. 5 of 1996).
This Act provides rules relative to the exploration for and the exploitation of mineral resources and related matters such as the grant of mineral rights and (restriction of) rights on the surface, protection of the environment and the resolution of disputes. No grant of rights in minerals shall be valid unless granted in accordance with this Act. The Minister may designate an Inspector of Mines and Minerals.
