The Order sets regulations regarding the establishment, operation and supervision of geothermal systems with the purpose of preventing pollution of groundwater, soil and subsoil. The established systems shall operate in using soil as a heating sources. Applications for authorization to establish such systems is required and shall comply with criteria detailed in Appendix 1. The installation shall be provided with a pressure monitoring switch (1), an alarm (2) and a safety device in the event of a leak. Regular inspection for proper functioning shall occurr on a yearly basis.The Order consists of 10 Chapters and 4 Appendices: Scope and definitions (1); Application and approval (2); Review rules (3); Location (4); Construction (5); Self-monitoring (6); Dismantling (7); Inspection (8); Penalties (9); Enry into force and transitional provisions (10).Appendix 1 - Information in use when applying for the establishment of geothermal system (article 5).Appendix 2 - Information required for the notification on creation or modification of geothermal systems (article 7).Appendix 3 - Leak testing of systems with brine (solution of salt in water) pursuant to article 19.Appendix 4 - Factors to be examined during annual maintenance (article 21).
